I Stand By You
I will stand by you because in me is part of you and in you is part of me. We are human beings who share in the hope for peace for ourselves and the rest of the world. We ask for dignity in life for there is no dignity in death.
I stand next to you because we desire freedom from fear and want. We believe in a world that can join hands and overcome the inhumanity inflicted on man by injustice. There is a world out there where tears of joy will wash away the stain of sorrow.
I will stand with you and embrace you as a fellow human being.Knowing that true love and understanding will one day overcome darkness and the light will shine and lead the way to peace for all men everyday.

I wrote this for a friend who cannot go back to his own country out of fear. But it is really for all people where ever they are who's lives are in turmoil. We as individuals must stand against injustice wherever it is.
